Facilitative mediation at Brite Mediation is all about giving you the power to shape your future.

In this process, our mediator guides the conversation, but you and your ex-partner make the decisions. It's a journey where your voices matter, leading to solutions that truly fit your family. This approach leaves you feeling heard, respected, and in control, rather than caught up in endless disputes. With each decision, you're not just reaching an agreement; you're paving the way for a swift and harmonious new start. It's the path to moving forward with understanding and mutual respect, exactly what you need to turn a new page in your lives without the battles.

How does it work?

Here’s the process:

  • Step One.

Schedule an intake assessment so that we can get to know about you and your family. We can then tailor a mediation approach to set your family up for resolution. We charge a fixed one off fee for this appointment of $385 (including GST).

  • Step Two.

We’ll invite you ex-partner to chat with us and see if they also agree mediation is the right solution for your family at this time.

  • Step Three.

Then we will host a mediation, holding space for you to each set the agenda, discuss your concerns and develop some solutions that everyone can live with. allowing you to both move on.

  • A swift and easy solution where a couple agreed between themselves but needed to make it legit to minimize stamp duty

“After my ex and I separated, it was fairly straightforward. We had two properties, we were each going to keep one and needed a legal agreement to minimise stamp duty payable when transferring them into each of our names. I was apprehensive because I had heard how much lawyers cost, and it seemed like waste when we had already reached agreement between ourselves. I am so glad I approached Ebony for advice because she was able to steer us toward her online solution which allowed us to build our own agreement saving traditional lawyer costs.”

  • A resolution for parents without needing to go through the court process

“When I approached Ebony at Brite Legal, I had resigned myself to the fact I would probably need to take my former husband to Court to sort out the arguments we were having about the care of our 7 year old daughter. We had been to mediation at our local Family Relationships Centre, and got nowhere. Ebony provided me with a clear map of my options, and I am so glad that she recommended a lawyer assisted private mediation. We reached an agreement after 2 hours, something I never thought possible for far far far less than court proceedings would have been.”

  • Focusing on the future, minimised the emotional conflict empowering a couple to move forward

“Ebony made me feel supported and understood. She took the time to listen to me, even when I was hysterical or emotional. It was easy during my divorce to get caught up in the small things, but Ebony’s warm nature kept bringing me back to the big picture. In hindsight, it was a blessing having this outlook because my experience during the divorce was much more positive working toward something rather than fixating on the negatives I was leaving behind.”

So how much does it cost?

Trying to sort out separation on your own can lead to unnecessary stress and misunderstanding.

Our mediation service offers a simpler, kinder way, avoiding costly legal battles and emotional strain. We're here to help you and your family move forward with peace and understanding, not just today, but for the future.

In reality, mediation costs a fraction of what traditional lawyer fees do (and is more effective, but we’re bias!)

We charge a fixed fee of $385 (incl. GST) for an intake appointment, and $715 (incl. GST) per person for a three hour mediation (without lawyers).
